Human Health Risk and Environmental Analysis

Help decision makers assess emerging technologies and methods for identifying and managing the hazards of energy and national security projects as well as the disposition of related wastes.

Human health risk and environmental analysis research focuses on developing methods and assessments to inform risk management decisions. We use impact analyses to examine the interplay between human health and environmental risks associated with energy production, hazardous waste, national security and natural disasters. Research findings provide support to the Department of Energy and other federal agencies in the following topical areas: environmental impact, dosimetry and radiation protection, toxicology, emergency preparedness and management and regulatory analysis.
