OAK RIDGE, Tenn., Dec. 12, 2013 – The Facilities and Operations Directorate of the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory has been named a recipient of a Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence Commitment Award.
The Facilities and Operations Directorate is responsible for the physical infrastructure to enable science at ORNL and represents 21 percent of the ORNL work force. The directorate was cited by TCPE for its high performance, continued improvement and best practice processes.
“Groups trying to improve understand that being successful takes effort from each employee and a shared commitment to quality and achievement, and organizations like Oak Ridge National Laboratory Facilities and Operations Directorate play a critical role in making Tennessee a better place to live, work and raise a family,” said Gov. Bill Haslam.
The award will be presented at the annual Excellence in Tennessee Awards Banquet in February. This year, the TNCPE has named 26 organizations as 2013 award winners. The list can be found at www.tncpe.org.
