National Security Emerging Technologies (NSET) Division efforts that are tracking the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak share the spotlight with other ORNL efforts in a new video showcasing the Lab’s role in the response to the pandemic.
“If we cannot make a difference today, I don’t know when we will get another opportunity in our lifetimes,” NSET Director Budhu Bhaduri says in the video. He explains how ORNL researchers are using geographic databases like LandScan to map reported cases of the disease and assess the impact of government interventions such as school closures and other measures on stopping the spread. ~ Matt Lakin, ORNL
