Nuclear Nonproliferation Programs


Oak Ridge National Laboratory covers the entire spectrum of nuclear nonproliferation work, from basic research and development to 'boots-on-the-ground' implementation. This work ranges from uranium fuel cycle research to detection technologies and nuclear forensics. The nuclear nonproliferation R&D programs develop, coordinate, and assist in implementing domestic and international policy aimed at reducing threats – internal and external – to the United States primarily from nuclear materials, nuclear weapons, and radiological dispersal devices.
