Current version dated June 22, 2016.

USLSTATS (Upper Subcritical Limit Statistics) is an interactive interface for preparing and modifying input decks, for performing upper subcritical limit (USL) calculations, and for examination of the resulting output file and plot. USLSTATS is written in Java and operates on numerous computing platforms. USLSTATS is based primarily on the statistical methods and algorithms comprising USLSTATS version 1 that was distributed with SCALE 5.  The statistical methods in USLSTATS include a confidence band with administrative margin approach (USL1), and a single-sided, uniform width, closed interval technique (USL2). Recent improvements include a new user interface, keyword input, replacement of table-lookups for key statistical values, such as the χ2 and Student’s t-distribution values, with continuous functions, and cross-platform portability. Backward compatibility has been maintained such that USLSTATS can read and process older input file formats.

Installation Notes:

  • Running USLSTATS requires the SCALE Javapeño code (javapeno.jar). The path to javapeno.jar is specified in the USLSTATS configuration at: File > Configuration > Update Configuration

Recent Updates:

SCALE 6.2.2:

  • Fixed an error in the method that calculated the confidence band for USL2.
