Little's task with the JUC will be to help plan for the transformation of the Grand Junction Office from DOE to some other, yet to be determined, custody. The ultimate custodian of the site may be another federal entity, a not-for-profit corporation or some profit-making entity. JUC will represent the best interests of the community in planning this transition.
Little joined ORNL's Environmental Sciences Division in 1976 and is head of the Environmental Technology Section of the Life Sciences Division located in Grand Junction, which opened in 1983.
He received a bachelor's degree in biology from McPherson (Kan.) College and a master's degree and doctorate in health physics and radioecology from Colorado State University.
He is a member of the Health Physics Society, the American Management Association and the Audubon Society.
He and his wife, Joanna, live in Grand Junction. They have two children.
ORNL, one of DOE's multiprogram national research and development facilities, is managed by Lockheed Martin Energy Research Corporation.
