Mattison named director of Ecological and Physical Science Study Center in ORNL Office of Science Education

Colleen Marie Dunnigan Mattison has been named director of the Ecological and Physical Science Study Center in the Office of Science Education at the Department of Energy's (DOE) Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).

Her duties include directing the Ecological and Physical Science Study Center at the lab's Freels Bend site, and overseeing Lockheed Martin Energy Systems' Adopt-A-School partnerships program.

Mattison previously worked as curriculum coordinator and teacher at Wesley Woods Environmental Education Camp in Townsend, and was a teacher in the Dade County (Fla.) Public School System.

She graduated from the University of Miami with a bachelor's degree in elementary education.

She and her husband, William, reside in Louisville with their son, William, 10, and daughter, Marsha Marie, 5.

ORNL, one of DOE's multiprogram national research and development facilities, is managed by Lockheed Martin Energy Systems, which also manages the Oak Ridge K-25 Site and the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant.
