Early Career Fellow of the Ecological Society of America

The Ecological Society of America (ESA) has announced Colleen Iversen, of the Ecosystem Observations and Experiments group and the Climate Change Science Institute in the Environmental Sciences Division, as an Early Career Fellow for 2017-2021 for advancing the science of ecology and showing promise for continuing contributions.  Dr. Iversen was elected for her leadership and creativity in linking experimentation and modeling to advance ecological understanding of the influence of fine plant roots on the fate of vast pools of carbon and nutrients held in the soils of diverse biomes.  
 
The Ecological Society of America, founded in 1915, is the world’s largest community of professional ecologists and a trusted source of ecological knowledge, committed to advancing the understanding of life on Earth. The 10,000 member Society publishes five journals and a membership bulletin and broadly shares ecological information through policy, media outreach, and education initiatives.
