Abstract
Handbook is a highly-regarded engineers reference book for heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and energy engineers. Building energy and water use metrics were developed for 53 commercial and residential building types. Supporting narrative was drafted and provided along with multiple tables of building performance metrics for publication in this ASHRAE handbook. ORNL (T. Sharp) developed the building performance metrics in Tables 2, 3, and 4 and authored the narrative about them. T. Sharp also authored the section on "Benchmarking Water Use" and developed building water use metrics published in Table 5.
