Abstract
A field demonstration was performed to evaluate the venting performance of the M&G DuraVent FasNSeal 80/90 venting system. The venting system uses a unique pipe within a pipe design to vent a condensing furnace and an natural-draft water heater, and can enable a condensing furnace to be installed in a home in which a condensing furnace could not otherwise be installed due to venting constraints. The field demonstration found that the FasNSeal 80/90 venting system successfully vented the orphaned water heater in each of the 16 demonstration homes and that the venting performance of the FasNSeal 80/90 venting system is generally comparable to the performance of venting systems initially installed in the 16 homes.
