Charge density wave distorts a Kagome metal

Topic:

A new electronic instability was discovered in a material with a kagome lattice of vanadium, revealing a unique charge density wave state at low temperature.

Subtle structural distortions can switch between ground states associated with the frustrated kagome net, which is known to host many novel quantum states relevant to electron correlations, topology, and potential microelectronic applications.
