Alberto M Marino

Group Leader, Quantum Sensing and Computing / Distinguished Research Scientist

Alberto Marino is the Group Leader for Quantum Sensing and Computing at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), where he specializes on experimental quantum optics with particular emphasis on its applications to quantum information science, quantum metrology, and quantum computing. Prior to joining ORNL in 2022, Alberto was an Associate Professor at the University of Oklahoma, where he was a faculty member for over 10 years and served as the Interim Director for the Center for Quantum Research and Technology. Before then, he held a postdoctoral position and then an assistant research scientist position at the Joint Quantum Institute (NIST/University of Maryland). He obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. in optics from the Institute of Optics at the University of Rochester.
