Alexandra M Buckley

Quality Assurance Engineer

Alexandra (Lexie) Buckley is a Quality Assurance Engineer for the US ITER Project. She is responsible for execution of the US ITER Quality Assurance Program, audits and assessments, and engineering and procurement quality. Lexie joined the US ITER Project in 2018 and serves as the quality assurance responsible officer for the tokamak cooling water system, vacuum auxiliary systems and instrumentation and controls. She also serves as safety responsible officer for all US ITER systems, assists with the US ITER QA Assessment Schedule, and is a member of the ITER Organization Management and Quality Processes Control Board.

Lexie previously worked as a licensing engineer on the Plant Vogtle Units 3 & 4 construction in Waynesboro, Georgia, for Westinghouse Electric Company. She worked closely as the main point of contact for onsite and external US Nuclear Regulatory Commission inspectors for all planned and unplanned inspections. She started out her career with Bechtel Telecommunications in Environmental Compliance and later with Bechtel Nuclear Industry as a mechanical systems design engineer.

Lexie holds a bachelors of science degree in aerospace engineering from Syracuse University and is a certified ASME NQA-1 Lead Auditor as of October 2020.
