Senior Mechanical Designer

Andrew was recently hired to work on the Mechanical design of the Second Target Station (STS) at the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS). Andrew has over 20 years’ experience in System automation and Mechanical design. He has spent the last 10 years working at Brookhaven National Laboratory on the National Synchrotron Light  Source II (NSLS-II) where he was part of the original design team for the Project Six Beamlines. During his time with NSLS-II Andrew worked on both Accelerator and Experimental aspects of the project for multiple beamlines. Andrew was also responsible for the design of multiple sample and detector systems for experimentation systems, he was the main designer for the HXN Nanopositoning program and the HXN Facility improvement project, he also spent some time working on the New Sphenix Detector that will be placed into operation in 2022 within the New E-RHIC system at BNL.

 

Up until his relocation to Oak Ridge Andrew, has been a volunteer firefighter for 22 years and enjoys woodworking and spending his free time traveling with his children for sports. Andrew is looking forward to his new position with ORNL and all the adventures it and Tennessee has to offer.
