Austin L Carroll

Postdoctoral Researcher

Austin Carroll is a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Microbial Ecology & Physiology group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He earned his B.S. in Chemistry in 2014 from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO. In 2019, he earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California – Davis. At UC-Davis, he worked with Dr. Shota Atsumi, studying cyanobacteria for carbon sequestration and chemical production. At ORNL, he works with Dr. Adam M. Guss, studying non-model organisms with an emphasis on lignin valorization.
