Cameron is a mechanical design engineer in the Instrument Systems group for the Second Target Station (STS) of the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS). He graduated in May of 2020 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Christian Brothers University at the top of his class. He was added to the instruments team in June after graduation. He held two internships while in school, and was a member of two honor societies, including Tau Beta Pi. Prior to coming to work for Oak Ridge he worked a triple-position internship where he operated under a Superintendent, a Project Manager, and worked as a safety manager for a head contracting company at a $30 million orthopedic surgery center project. He brings experience from working in a custom machine shop as well. He started from the ground up, first sweeping the floors of the shop and progressing to becoming one of the head CNC programmers. His senior project involved the design and construction of a target-hunting rifle crossover shooting rest which had the capability of shooting the rifle with zero human contact and was able to return to point-of-aim after every shot.

He also makes use of his engineering skills outside of work in the design and building of custom boats. The watercraft are modeled and simulations are completed for stress, weight distribution, and drag, and then the boats manufactured all by hand.
