Bio
Elizabeth Kirby joined the Nonreactor Nuclear Facilities Division as a procedure writer in May 2023.
In her position, she develops and revises administrative and technical procedures to comply with applicable requirements and works with subject matter experts to ensure procedures are technically accurate and written to a level of detail consistent with the qualifications and training of users. She also incorporates and facilitates revisions identified by document reviews, job hazard evaluations, verifications and validations, the Unreviewed Safety Question Determination process, and other quality assurance and safety processes.
Elizabeth previously worked as a technical writer/editor for ORNL and as a procedure coordinator for the Transuranic Waste Processing Center. She has a Procedure Professionals Association certification and her Lean Six Sigma green belt.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in technical communications from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
