Gyan Shankar NLN

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Gyan Shankar is a postdoctoral research associate in the Materials for Advanced Manufacturing group, within the Materials Science and Technology Division. His primary research interests are the study of microstructural evolution and control in the thermo-mechanical processing and additive manufacturing of materials. It also includes the study of the formation of crystallographic texture in metallic materials during different processing. He specializes in using X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy focused on electron back-scattered diffraction (EBSD) to explain structure-property-processing co-relationships in metals and alloy systems.
