Harry N Hughes

High Performance Research Software engineer

Harry received his graduate degree in Computer Engineering under the advisement of Dr. Jack Dongarra in the Innovative Computing Lab (ICL) at the University of Tennessee. Harry is a High-Performance Computing specialist. He relies on communication with subject matter experts and his familiarity with applied math, linear algebra, and creative algorithms to design implementations of solutions they have constructed to complex problems in their fields. He implements these solutions using state of the art approaches by applying his knowledge of high performance hardware, high performance computing environments, and massively parallel computing paradigms. Harry has made contributions to a high performance computer vision software, finite-element solver software for high performance computational plasma physics, and Monte-Carlo modeling software also for high performance computational plasma physics. Prior to joining ORNL, he worked in signal processing and embedded development for private industry.
