Bio
Jack joined ORNL in 2022 and is a Geospatial Modeler in the Geospatial Data Modelling Group, primarily supporting LandScan HD, a high resolution gridded population dataset. He specializes in computational geometry and spatial data analysis, with a focus on building footprints and further developing LandScan HD. Prior to joining the Laboratory, Jack earned a MS in Geography from Virginia Tech in 2021, where he studied coastal population dynamics and photogrammetric methods for measuring beach erosion, and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2018 with a BS in Marine Science, where he studied measuring ocean waves with a coastal high frequency radar array.
