Stable Isotopes Technician

I work as a technician within the Stable Isotopes group, creating single batch targets according to specifications from customers worldwide. Every project is interesting and diverse - I get to work with nearly all of the periodic table! I also help maintain the nation's stable isotope inventory and work hard to update and organize knowledge and documentation dating back to the Calutron days. I am proud to be a part of the ORNL Stable Isotopes team as of May 2019.

My background is mainly as an analytical and bioinorganic chemist. In the past, I have worked on making labs on a chip for in situ ligase detection reactions for detection of KRAS positive DNA mutations in exosomes and creation of novel macromolecules for capture and sequestration of anions. I was awarded a Master's of Science in 2015 for my work on synthesizing, characterizing, and testing bacterial growth inhibition of novel metal-chelating thiosemicarbazone ligands and their copper and palladium complexes as Topoisomerase IIa inhibitors.
