HFIR Maintenance Engineering Lead

Overview:

The HFIR Maintenance Engineering Lead provides leadership and supervision for the HFIR Maintenance Engineering group.  The Maintenance Engineering group performs work planning, work instruction creation, and task leading activities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

                Leadership

Supervises HFIR Maintenance Engineers, provides leadership, direction, and support for developing and maintaining repetitive, corrective, modification, and facility maintenance work packages.

Responsible for work distribution and prioritization to HFIR Maintenance Engineering staff.

Performs personnel assessments, evaluations, and development of HFIR Maintenance Engineering staff.

Makes recommendations to HFIR management regarding maintenance, hazard, and work control issues.

Provides input for planning and implementation of fiscal year budget and schedule.

Maintains a strong nuclear safety culture that serves to make nuclear safety the overriding priority.

                Maintenance Coordinator and Independent Reviewer

Serves as the primary Maintenance Independent Reviewer who interacts with maintenance, system engineering, safety, and support staff in the development of HFIR work packages, performs required work package reviews, and develops work plans to ensure compliance and consistency with maintenance activities.

Continuously streamlines and standardizes maintenance processes, ensuring work efficiency, minimizing errors, and strengthening compliance.

Conducts maintenance planning to support reactor, cold source, neutron scattering, and facility work including participating in the plan of the day process, schedule development, and outage preparation and execution.
