John Keith, Jr. has managed the Business Management Services Group for the Research Reactors Division since January, 2012. This group is is responsible for training program development and implementation, Information Technology (IT) implementation, document control, records management, nuclear procurement, and budget & finance. The training program covers reactor operator certifications, cold source qualifications, technical staff qualifications, craft qualifications, and reactor access training for both staff and users. IT duties include coordination with the ITSD; software quality assurance; and design, development, implementation and maintenance of the RRD intranet, network software applications, and associated databases. This group is also responsible for overseeing the development and administration of the RRD Integrated Work Plan, which helps to ensure budgetary compliance. Additionally, this group is responsible for nuclear procurement and materials activities for materials, spare parts, and components that affect safe and reliable operation of the HFIR and the cold source.
Prior to his current position, he served as Group Leader for the Information Technology Group, also within the Research Reactors Division. John has been employed at the High Flux Isotope Reactor since 1988. John came to ORNL from TVA, where he worked in the Corporate Industrial Engineering Group.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Master’s of Science in Industrial Engineering with a concentration in Information Systems, both from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
