Lynne K Degitz

Advisor for Stakeholder Relations

Lynne serves as the head of stakeholder relations for the US ITER Project. She works closely with project leadership, partner laboratories, sponsors, industry partners, and global collaborators to develop and implement strategies and supporting practices for project success. Before beginning this role in 2022, Lynne served as the communications lead for US ITER and the Fusion and Fission Energy and Science Directorate at ORNL.

Lynne has nearly 30 years of experience in research-focused institutions, including multiple Research I universities. Before joining ORNL in 2010, Lynne served as a communications professional in public affairs and a program director for instructional development at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has extensive experience managing projects and people to support external relations and organizational priorities.

Lynne holds a BA degree in English and Anthropology from Hamilton College (Clinton, NY) and a MA in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She also completed extensive work toward a doctoral degree in Medical Anthropology at UNC-Chapel Hill.
