Neelam Pradhan is a Lead Engineer in the Second Target Station’s Target Systems group . She is responsible for the design of the Accelerator Interface Components - Proton Beam Window, Target Viewing Periscope and Proton Beam Tube Assembly for Target Systems. Neelam has over 10 years of technical experience as a Mechanical Engineer .
Neelam started at SNS as a Scientific Associate at SNAP - the high pressure beamline in 2010. She transitioned to the Sample Environment group as a Design Engineer and primarily worked on high pressure systems and VISION sample changer till 2018. Neelam briefly worked at Corning Inc. from 2018 to 2019 in the Corning Glass Technology group. She has been with Second Target Station project since February 2020.
Neelam has a Masters in Materials Science & Engineering from Stanford University and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology- Dhanbad. Neelam enjoys hiking and most outdoor activities in the Smoky Mountains and loves travelling and gardening.
