Peng is a postdoctoral research associate in the Chemical Sciences Division. His research interests are CO2 capture and sequestration, mineral transformation, and interactions of contaminants with mineral surfaces. Before joining ORNL, Peng was appointed as a postdoctoral fellow in the Chemical Sciences and Engineering Division at Argonne National Laboratory from 2019 to 2023. His academic background includes a Ph.D. in Soil Science specializing in Soil and Environmental Geochemistry from the University of Wyoming in 2019, a master's degree in Chemical Engineering and Technology from Dalian University of Technology in 2012, and a bachelor's degree in Plant Protection from Shenyang Agricultural University in 2009.
