Nasir is an urban engineer with network science, graph theory, and complexity science expertise. His research interests are to understand the complexity, resilience, and sustainability of urban infrastructures. Before joining the ORNL, Nasir worked as a postdoctoral scholar at the Arizona State University (ASU). He developed algorithms to generate synthetic water and power distribution networks and modeled interconnections among them to understand the consequences of a catastrophic event as a postdoc at ASU. Nasir earned his Ph.D. in 2018 and masters in 2014 from the University of Illinois’s (UIC) civil engineering department. He developed models using network science, graph theory, and data science to quantify the sustainability of world countries while at UIC. Nasir received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.
