Starra Lyons joined ORNL in 2022 as an Electronics Design Technician for the DAQ Development group in the Neutron Sciences Directorate. Starra has supported printed circuit board design and production for multiple electronics manufacturing companies in the East Tennessee Area. She is excited to now be manufacturing science with the laboratory. The DAQ development group is responsible for custom data acquisition systems used at SNS and HFIR. Starra's primary role in the group is to build, test, install, and provide necessary troubleshooting to custom electronics integrated at the beamlines. The DAQ groups are working together to revise the hardware used in the data acquisition systems to be modular as an effort to mitigate supply chain issues. Starra will work with DAQ engineers to perform layout and design firmware for future designs.
