Bio
Tim is a member of the Design Services group, serving as a Senior Mechanical Designer. After 6 years in the US Navy as an F-14 radar technician, his mechanical design career started at Lockheed Martin (TX) in 1994 working with Pro/Engineer. Tim began contract design work in 1996 at Cirrus Design. He traveled around the United States with contract jobs with well-known companies such as: John Deere, Peterbilt, Orbital Sciences, and Raytheon. In 2005, Lessard came to ORNL as a subcontractor. During his 10-years as a subcontractor at ORNL he was involved with various projects including: SNS Target System, MPEX, EMIS, FRIB with Michigan State University, MMTS, and FMITS. In 2016, he began work at Y-12 National Security Complex on the UPF project. In 2019, Lessard became a full time UT-Battelle employee supporting the centrifuge program and is currently supporting SNS/HFIR.
Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with his wife of 40 years, playing golf, darts, shooting sporting clays, hiking, disc golf, and even curling.
