The Appliance and Equipment Standards subprogram exists to support DOE in developing and improving minimum efficiency standards for residential and commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment. ORNL researchers complete testing of products to support standards rule-making processes; support special programs of DOE’s Appliance and Equipment Standards by developing and executing test plans; and representing the program through interaction with emerging technology RD&D projects.
Researchers involved with the Appliance and Equipment Standards subprogram are experts in all aspects of technical standards and represent ORNL in various technical associations and organizations.
