DSRD researcher wins technical achievement honors

Alton F. Huntley of Lockheed Martin Energy Systems (LMES) Data Systems Research and Development (DSRD) Division has received one of the International Sybase User Group's three Outstanding Achievement Awards.

Huntley accepted the award at the group's annual convention in Orlando, Fla.

Sybase is a database software company, whose user group sponsors the awards competition on an international level. Huntley's work in conference presentations, specifically the Database Consistency Checker that explained how to use undocumented portions of Sybase's software, was instrumental in his winning the award.

Huntley joined the Department of Energy's (DOE) Oak Ridge facilities in 1984. Since 1989, he has served as database administrator for development of the Air Mobility Command Deployment Analysis System for the U.S. Air Force.

He and his wife, Deborah, live in Oak Ridge with their children, Eric and Ellen.

LMES manages the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant and East Tennessee Technology Park for the Department of Energy.
