Vernon Gordon was recognized for his sustained and energetic service to the Lockheed Martin Oak Ridge Chapter on both a local and national level. He is in the Defense Programs Organization and is responsible for managing the Capability Assurance Program for the Y-12 Plant. He earned his masters degree in agricultural engineering from the University of Tennessee. Gordon began working on the Centrifuge Development Program at Oak Ridge's K-25 Plant in 1968. He has been at the Y-12 Plant since 1985. Gordon and his wife, Carolyn, live in Northwest Knoxville. They have two daughters.
Gary Inman of the ORNL Instrumentation and Controls Division was presented with the New Manager of the Year Award for exemplary leadership in management within his division. Inman has been an ORNL employee since 1968. Inman and his wife live in Anderson County and have three children.
Gordon Fee received the Distinguished Service Award for serving as a role model of exceptional leadership and management and for dedication to the mission success of Lockheed Martin Energy Systems. Fee served as president of Lockheed Martin Energy Systems and was on the Energy Systems Board of Directors before his retirement in 1997. His long career began in 1956 with the Union Carbide Corporation at the Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant (now known as the East Tennessee Technology Park). Since then, he served a variety of positions at the Y-12 Plant, from manager to senior vice president. Fee and his wife, Miriam, live in Oak Ridge. They have two grown children.
Randy Gorman in the Office of Radiation Protection received the Leadership Award for demonstrating leadership, knowledge and courage within ORNL's Health Physics Information Management System. He is manager of Health Physics Information Management System. Previously he was supervisor of the Dosimetry Data Management Group. He is a 1991 graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in business administration. Gorman and his wife live in Loudon. They have one son.
ORNL, one of DOE's multiprogram national research and development facilities, is managed by Lockheed Martin Energy Research Corporation. The Y-12 plant and the East Tennessee Technology Park are managed by Lockheed Martin Energy Systems.
