Trivelpiece announces Lockheed Martin Energy Research Management

Alvin W. Trivelpiece, president of Lockheed Martin Energy Research Corporation and director of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), has announced the appointment of officers for Lockheed Martin Energy Research Corporation (LMER), which assumed management of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) on January 1.

ORNL Deputy Director, Robert I. Van Hook, has been named executive vice president of LMER.

The following ORNL Associate Directors have been named LMER vice presidents: David E. Reichle, Life Sciences and Environmental Technologies; James O. Stiegler, Energy and Engineering Sciences; Bill R. Appleton, Advanced Materials, Physical and Neutron Sciences; C. Edward Oliver, Computing, Robotics and Education; and Jerry H. Swanks, Operations, Environment, Safety and Health.

Edgar R. Bowers has been named LMER vice president and general counsel.

William R. Martin will serve as Vice President for Technology Transfer for LMER and Lockheed Martin Energy Systems.

ORNL, one of the Department of Energy's multiprogram national research and development facilities, is managed by Lockheed Martin Energy Research Corp.
