Dali Wang Elevated to Senior Member in IEEE

Dali Wang, a Senior Research and Development Staff member in the Terrestrial Systems Modeling group in the Environmental Science Division has been elevated to the level of Senior Member in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.   IEEE and its members inspire a global community through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. There are more than 423,000 IEEE members in over 160 countries around the world. IEEE members are engineers, scientists, and allied professionals whose technical interests are rooted in electrical and computer sciences, engineering, and related disciplines.

Dr. Wang is also a board member of the International Environmental Modeling & Software society, a joint associate professor of Computer Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He has strong research interests in large-scale environmental and climate modeling, high-performance computing (HPC), data analytics and infrastructure, developmental biology and geographic information system.  Dr. Wang has a PhD in Environmental Engineering (with a computational science focus), an MS in Computer Science and an MSC in Computational Sciences and Engineering, all from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy NY.
