Abstract
The genomes of Methylomomas sp. strain EFPC1 and Methylococcus sp. strain EFPC2 isolated from a mercury-contaminated stream in Oak Ridge Tennessee, were sequenced. Genes for the central pathway of methane oxidation were found in both methanotrophs, as well as for the ribulose monophosphate pathway and tricarboxylic acid cycle.
