Radiation protection for accelerator facilities involves a range of actions to operate the facility within safe boundaries (often called an accelerator safety envelope) and it starts from the very early stage of facility development. Each facility will establish fundamental safety principles, requirements, and measures to control the radiation exposure to people and the release of radioactive material to the environment
