Bio

I am a Materials Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. I am passionate about developing next generation energy storage that can make a real impact in people's lives. My expertise and focus is on enabling next generation energy storage including solid state Li metal batteries. These batteries when realized will lead to a step change in batteries, impacting electric vehicles, portable electronics, and eventually electric aviation. I am also passionate about the discovery of new materials and am an expert in the structure of ionic glass materials which have a unique combination of mechanical stiffness, ductility, ionic conductivity, while being electrically insulating. These ionic glasses have significant applications in batteries, but likely also have many other wide reaching applications.
