Plasma Heating Systems Manager, US ITER Project

Ben Hardy is the manager of plasma heating systems at US ITER. He is responsible for the planning, design, fabrication and delivery of these systems. Ben joined the US ITER project in 2021 as a Senior Project Engineer. In that role, he has served as the Technical Project Officer for four ion cyclotron prototype procurements and for the production waveguide guide procurement.

Ben previously served at ExxonMobil Corporation for seven years, holding roles as a Technology Development Team Lead, Building Services Supervisor, Project Manager, and Senior Electrical Engineer. His teams have addressed disruptive concepts for offshore production and operations, commercial facility systems, and operating expense reduction projects. He started out his professional career at Bechtel Oil, Gas, and Chemicals, Inc., where he held multiple positions as an electrical design engineer working on liquid natural gas projects.

Ben holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. He is certified professional engineer (Texas) and also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
