Manufacturing Operations Lead

Billy Joe "BJ" Davis is a Manufacturing Operations Lead for the Isotope Processing and Manufacturing Division (IPMD) of the Isotope Science and Engineering Directorate.

BJ came to ORNL from the Y-12 National Security Complex. During his tenure at Y-12, he worked as an Engineering Lead for the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) and System Engineer for 9212 before most recently serving in Enriched Uranium Operations (EUO) as the 9212 Transition Manager. In this role his responsibilities included scoping, scheduling, engineering, and maintenance execution to isolate process equipment in preparation to downgrade from a Category 2 Nuclear Facility and turnover of the 9212 Facility to the Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Environmental Management (EM).

He has held other positions within ORNL, including at the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS), where he was a Designer and CAD Manager for Facilities. In addition, BJ has worked for several engineering design firms, including Jacobs Engineering, Foster Wheeler and IT Corporation, where he worked on multiple DOE facilities. He has also worked at Watts Bar and Sequoyah nuclear power plants.
