Birdy B Phathanapirom

Nonproliferation Data Scientist

Birdy is a nonproliferation data scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the Nuclear Nonproliferation Division. Birdy holds a B.Sc. in Physics (2012), an M.S.E. in Nuclear & Radiation Engineering (2014), and a Ph.D. in Nuclear & Radiation Engineering (2018) from the University of Texas at Austin. Her research interests include decision theory, game theory, systems modeling and machine learning. Birdy has over 10 publications in nuclear energy research, is the recipient of two DOE Innovations in Fuel Cycle research awards in the Energy Policy category, and was a Nuclear Energy University Program Fellow from 2013 to 2017.
