Bobbie Sweet represents the National Security Program Office providing project management support to the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF). In May of 2019, Bobbie was assigned to the MDF to assist with growing the Department of Defense (DoD) portfolio in the additive manufacturing space.  In the past year, she has been a part of growing the DoD portfolio by $125M in new work scope and $29M funded effort this past year to include being a key player in the development of the relationships between DoD sponsors which include:  Army, Navy, Air Force, Defense Threat Reduction Agency and Office of Deputy Assistant, Secretary of Defense.  Bobbie prepares and coordinates Strategic Partnership Proposals submitted to Department of Energy for their approval.  

Bobbie has worked within the Oak Ridge federal environment for more than 38 years, serving for 15 years with the Department of Energy (DOE), 4 years at the Y-12 National Security Complex and 19 years at ORNL.  In 2006, Bobbie joined the Global Security Directorate and was involved in its transition to the NSSD.  While at DOE, Bobbie held progressive senior administrative/task lead positions with Safeguards and Security, Work for Others, Personnel Clearance and Assurance Branch, and Travel.  Her role at the Y-12 National Security Complex was as Executive Assistant to the Director of Readiness Technical Base and Facilities; her previous role was as Senior Administrative Staff to the Program Manager for Nuclear Material Management.  Bobbie’s vast experience within the Oak Ridge federal environment contributes to her excellent understanding of organizational workflows and her senior-level performance as a project management professional.
