Chelsea A McCombs

Sustainable Energy Research Project Management and Program Specialist

Chelsea McCombs is the Sustainable Energy Research Project Management and Program Specialist with the Electrification and Energy Infrastructures Division (EEID).

Chelsea earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Tennessee (UT), in Knoxville, Tennessee, and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Accounting from Lincoln Memorial University, in Harrogate, Tennessee.

Prior to joining the EEID team, Chelsea served as Finance Officer to multiple ORNL Divisions, most recently National Center for Computational Sciences.  In 2015-2018, she was a seconded ORNL employee serving as the Finance Director for a DOE cooperative agreement award--The Institute for Advanced Composite Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI). During this time, she had the opportunity to work with state, public, and private organizations to set up a new 501c3 not-for-profit company to oversee the IACMI project. Chelsea successfully established the finance and accounting team for IACMI.

Chelsea joined ORNL in January 2013 after working as an auditor for a local CPA firm and accounting specialist for a local credit union.  Chelsea is a native Tennessean, and in her free time, she enjoys participating in local festivals, attending UT sporting events, and enjoying the recently renovated lake home with her family.
