Clare L Kennedy

Science Writer and Communications Specialist

Clare Kennedy is a third-generation journalist and native of Tampa, Florida. She does website management, social media and content creation for Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Physical Sciences Directorate, a research portfolio that encompasses nanoscience, chemistry, nuclear and high energy physics, and materials sciences, among others. She plays a similar role at the Water Power Program.

She comes to ORNL after a 15-year career as a reporter and editor at a long list of newspapers and digital media companies. Most recently, she was an editor for a multinational real estate analytics company called the CoStar Group, where she coordinated coverage for the largest cities in Texas, Tennessee, the Southwest, Midwest and Pacific Northwest.

Ms. Kennedy lives in West Knoxville with her husband-to-be, a research scientist specializing in hydrology and climate modeling. She can be found frequently on LinkedIn and the entity formerly known as Twitter
