GIS Research Assistant

Practicing the art and science of being detailed and precise in an often vague and subjective environment.

Since beginning my employment with ORNL in September of 2015 I have worked on several projects that involved building footprint digitization from satellite imagery and QA/QC of related projects.  I helped develop and implement a training program designed to teach this skill set to others.

  • Settlement Mapping (in support of the Gates Foundation)
  • LandScan
  • US Structures

Before coming to ORNL I worked for 20 years in Emergency Communications (E-911).  During that time I held almost every position involved in E-911 operations from dispatcher to Interim E-911 Director.  My main area of expertise was maintaining GIS data in support of E-911 operations to locate emergency callers and route emergency first response personnel.
