Diliya U Murtazina

Graduate Research Fellow

Diliya Murtazina is a Ph.D. student in Energy Science and Engineering through Bredesen Center for Interdisciplinary Research and Graduate Education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She received her Bachelor in Ecology and Environmental Management from Moscow State University and a Master of Engineering in Energy Systems from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Diliya Murtazina is a native of Kazakhstan. Her research interests include sustainability, landscape ecology, water quality and environmental protection. At the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), she performed the analysis of environmental effects of the Space-Based Solar Power System's operation, where she assessed the effects of redirecting sunlight from outer space to Earth as energy through microwaves. Before joining Bredesen Center, she had an internship experience at the Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment at the UIUC.

She is currently working on the ENIGMA - Ecosystems and Networks Integrated with Genes and Molecular Assemblies, a Scientific Focus Area Program led by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, based upon work supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science, Office of Biological & Environmental Research under contract number DE-AC02-05CH11231.
