Grant C Westwood

Bio

Grant Westwood, an enrichment production technician in the Stable Isotope Production Facility Demonstration Group (SIPFDG) in the Isotope Science and Engineering Directorate's Enrichment Science and Engineering Division, joined ORNL in 2023.

Grant previously was an Engineering Technician with Cooperative Laundry, supporting the construction and operation of a hospitality laundry with electro-mechanical work on the water softening plant, natural gas boilers, industrial wash tunnels, dryers and finishing equipment.

He served six years in the U.S. Navy as an Engineering Laboratory Technician, responsible for all radiological work coverage, maintaining radioactive and steam plant water chemistry as well as the radioactive material accountability program, and maintaining propulsion aboard the U.S.S. Kentucky SSN 737 (BLUE). Submarine Squadron 17, out of Bangor Submarine Base, awarded his crew the Battle-E award. 

Grant is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.
