Ilja Popovs

R&D Staff, Synthetic Organic Chemistry

Ilja Popovs is an R&D staff member in the Nanomaterials Chemistry Group within the Chemical Sciences Division. He received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Houston in 2014. His work primarily leverages structure-property relationships, molecular recognition, physical-organic chemistry, and advanced synthesis techniques. He aims to design innovative materials, molecular systems, and technologies that can be applied in diverse areas, such as energy storage applications, gas and ion separation, molecular recognition, radiochemistry, and sensor development.
