Jianlin Li

Senior R&D staff member and group leader, Energy Storage and Conversion Manufacturing Group

Jianlin Li is a senior R&D Staff and the Group Leader of the Energy Storage and Conversion Manufacturing Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). His research area includes materials synthesis, processing and characterization, electrode engineering, cell manufacturing and prototyping for energy storage and conversion. Dr. Li received his dual B.S. in Materials Chemistry and Electronic Information Engineering in 2001 and his M.S. in Materials Science in 2004. All were from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He also received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Florida in 2009. He is a recipient of several prestigious awards including 2021 UT-Battelle Research Accomplishment individual award, 3 R&D 100 award and 2 Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC) award.  He is an inventor of 31 patents and patent applications, seven of which have been licensed. Jianlin has authored more than 150 refereed journal articles and 11 book chapters, and edited 1 book.
