Jim is a member of the HPC Scalable Systems group at Oak Ridge National Lab.
Jim started at the lab in mid 2024, and is currently a contractor. He is passionate about High Performance Computing (HPC) and the engineering challenges that persist in the field, as well as HPC education and outreach.
Prior to his position at ORNL, Jim was as a Research Computing and Data facilitator at Tennessee Technological University, where he worked as part of a small but talented team of inspired individuals to administrate, support, and implement solutions to the university's research questions via the HPC system installed there.
Outside of work, Jim is an advocate for computer history and preservation, and restores vintage systems as a hobby.
