Project Management

John Sanseverino is a senior project manager in the Project Management Office at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Lehigh University in 1989 and then joined the Center for Environmental Biotechnology at the University of Tennessee (UT) for a post-doc. At UT, he earned the rank of Research Associate Professor and was the Managing Director for the Center for Environmental Biotechnology. During that time, he was also the co-founder of two start-up ventures.  In 2010, Dr. Sanseverino joined the Tennessee Solar Institute (TSI) as Director of Programs.  At TSI, he was responsible for developing grant programs, outreach, workforce development activities, and building industry and partnerships. He earned his Project Management Professional certification in 2012.

Dr. Sanseverino joined the Climate Change Science Institute in the summer of 2012.  His primary job responsibilities included communications, strategic planning, and proposal and budget development. In late 2017, he joined CCSD as a project manager providing support for the OLCF-5 computer acquisition and the INCITE program.  In 2019, Dr. Sanseverino joined the Materials Plasma Exposure Experiment, a DOE 413.3b project, as the project manager.
